Morse Code Sound and Light Player
Hear and see your message in Morse. The player beeps and flashes a lamp at the speed you choose (5 to 35 words per minute), and the timing panel shows the dot length and total time using the standard rule: 1 dot = 1200 ÷ WPM milliseconds.
What Each Encoder Does
The same word, 5 ways. Step through them.
A Short History of Text Codes
Every encoder here comes from a different era of communication.
Morse Code Timing by Speed
Morse speed is measured in words per minute (WPM). The dot length gets shorter as speed rises.
Encoding Is Not Encryption
Anyone can decode Morse, binary, hex and Base64 with the same tool, so never use them to hide passwords or private data.

ASCII Art & Encoders FAQs
Why does é take 2 bytes in binary?
UTF-8 stores characters outside basic ASCII in 2 to 4 bytes; é is C3 A9.
Can runes be decoded back to English?
Not exactly, since several letters share 1 rune (c, k and q all become ᚲ).
How fast is normal Morse code?
Beginners learn at 5 to 10 words per minute; experienced operators send 20 to 30 or more. Try any speed in the player above.
What does SOS mean in Morse?
SOS (··· ––– ···) is the international distress signal, chosen because it is easy to send and recognise.
How do I paste an ASCII banner without breaking it?
Paste it into a code block or any monospace field so every character has the same width.
What is Base64 used for?
Sending binary data, such as images in emails or data URLs, through systems that only handle text.
